Activist Actresses Angelina Jolie and Meg Ryan got together with some very noteworthy women in Beverly Hills last night for the International Women’s Media Foundation’s 18th Annual Courage in Journalism Awards. The honorees, from Mexico, Ethiopia, and Iraq, were awarded last week in DC, but were happy to have another time on the red carpet together in LA last night. Obviously Angelina, Maria Shriver and Meg Ryan were happy to be able to host the women in LA last night, too. Look at that grin! Earlier this year, Angelina received critical acclaim playing an extremely courageous female in A Mighty Heart and she obviously greatly admires the work of women dealing with intense situations all over the world. A definite big brava goes out to all these incredible women who inspire female journalists everywhere.

So far, Lindsay Lohan seems to be settling into life in LA without getting into any trouble. Perhaps getting back to work and eliminating bad influences is really working this time. She also seems to be making some real estate deals. Apparently, LL has finally sold her condo in the Sierra Towers for good. We’ve heard this rumor once or twice before, but maybe this time she really means it. Maybe Lindsay is looking to invest in a little love nest somewhere away from the LA club scene with her new man Riley. Of course, where ever she ends up, we’re sure the paparazzi won’t be far behind.

Jessica Simpson flashed her famous smile in her favorite jeans and aviators out in LA the morning after her supposed date with Owen Wilson. I was expecting a lot fewer of you to like the idea of these two together, but the more I think about it the more they might be cute, especially if they can make each other laugh. Plus, we know how she likes to match her hair to her mate’s and this time she wouldn’t be have to change a thing about her shaggy blonde locks. Plus, do I detect a little bit of a blush to go with those red accessories of hers? Heh, probably not.

Orlando Bloom has been having a pretty good couple of weeks since his scary car crash. Not only does he have a new lady in his life, but he also got off his hit and run scot-free. Looks like he even decided to wear his confidence on his cheeky t-shirt. The unfortunate side effect that apparently comes with his unstoppability is that the icky icky mustache is back. Also we’re not quite sure wearing his dog leash as a sash is the safest thing in the world, but that’s really more of a question for PetSugar.

Which actress is hanging out on set?

Ben Affleck looked more exhausted than ever jetting from France to Spain to keep promoting his Gone Baby Gone overseas. While he’s been spending time abroad, his reps have been working to sort out a media mishap from Ben’s interview with Details magazine. Apparently the writer misquoted Ben as saying that he’ll leave LA if his movie isn’t a success and that his movie is “really f—ing good.” We thought it sounded a little odd for Ben to say that he would leave the business, but we’re glad that he was able to clear that up. Considering the reviews for Gone Baby Gone are positive, it’s nothing he has to worry about anyway.

Ali Larter looked hot as hell in her black sheath dress, black patent bag and nude Loubs around LA yesterday. What can I say, the girl looks bangin’. This season of Heroes has been light on Ali, but judging from last night’s episode we can look forward to having more of Nikki/Jessica to come. Season 2 of the show still has a few too many storylines going on for me, but hopefully they’ll all come together in some way soon. Until then, Ali’s got some important phone calls to make.

Britney Spears had a big smile on her face with her arms full of junk food as she walked around LA yesterday. She must have been excited about today’s release of Blackout, but unfortunately the judge’s ruling about her kids isn’t as happy. The court granted Britney just three monitored visits a week — two afternoons and one overnight with SP and JJ. This is a far cry from the 50/50 custody she was hoping for. She and Kevin were also ordered to figure out a holiday schedule between themselves and Britney was told to have her pool fenced in by Friday. The judge also released some of what the parenting coach had to say.

The coach revealed that Britney missed three of their appointments and when they did get together didn’t pay much attention to her kids or arrange her schedule based on the boys having fun. All in all, Britney’s visitation rights have been scaled back rather than increased due to her behavior. It sounds like Britney is far away from regaining substantial custody of her boys, but hopefully reading and hearing reports like these will get her on the right track as a mom. Because for now, hearing news like this just makes us sad.
